Location

Countryside view from NannerthNannerth Fawr Farm lies at about 900 feet in the upper Wye Valley, just to the north west of the market town of Rhayader or Rhaeadr Gwy, in the old county of Radnorshire. This unspoilt area is little touched by tourism and you will find an uncrowded environment where traditional family farms shape the landscape. We are right in the heart of Wales in ‘kite country’, surrounded by the hills, mountains and moors of Plynlimon (Pumlumon) and the Cambrian mountains. Behind the farm rise the high hills of the Elan Valley moorland, while to the south and east the winding river Wye borders almost 2 miles of our valley pastures and meadows.

This is an excellent base for exploring central Wales and the border ‘march’ country. We are an hour from the sea and the university town of Aberystwyth and an hour or so from the Cathedral city of Hereford and the beautiful march area. Rugged Snowdonia lies to the north and the Brecon Beacons to the south.
