Gypsy Caravan Holiday, Powys, Mid Wales. We think this is the prettiest gypsy caravan in Wales.  When we saw this traditional bow top Romany waggon with its detailed paintings of birds, animals and fruit, on gaily coloured yellow and red paintwork, we decided to bring her home, refurbish the interior and offer her as a wonderful alternative holiday property.

The caravan has a very comfortable double bed, with traditional cupboards and drawers for storage.  The living area has seating with padded cushions and a large beanbag  and the split half glazed doors give light to the sitting area and views of the hills beyond.  There is electric heating and the cast iron chiminea can be lit as an outdoor fire or used as a barbecue.

The duo includes a traditionally built shepherds’ hut, fitted with a shower room, kitchen and dining area.  Underfloor heating will keep you warm and cosy and you could even call the bathroom luxurious. The well equipped mini kitchen has a 2 ring ceramic hob, fridge and combination oven. Although traditional, the shepherds’ hut is well insulated, and has glazed doors giving onto an outdoor sitting area, great for eating out on warm evenings.

The duo is fully mobile and can be moved to different locations.  Between about May and October a secluded field area is used, just a short walk from the river Wye and surrounded by unspoilt hay meadows and wetlands.  During the rest of the year we bring the duo up to its own private and sheltered garden area next to attractive old stone barns and the facilities of the farm.

Short stays or whole weeks are available throughout the year and visitors may bring a tent for extra sleeping accommodation by prior arrangement and at a small additional cost.

NB Alys is let with a beautifully designed shower room with hot and cold water, a flush loo, great shower and underfloor heating.  Likewise the kitchen is well equipped, clean and comfortable.
